For more than 50 years, The House of Salgado has been providing the Bay Street business community with the finest in bespoke menswear; impeccable service, traditional tailoring and superb cloths of incomparable drape and luxury handle.  We have built an indisputable reputation for craftsmanship and our stature is above reproach.

Our Craft:

Each and every House of Salgado suit is hand-cut, hand finished and constructed by individuals carrying age old traditions based in European craftsmanship.  Because our suits are cut from scratch and entirely tailored to your specifications and build, a visit to our showroom is a must.  This is the beginning of the client relationship.  Once we have your measurements on file a perfect suit can be created on-line (within reason).  Nothing can beat however, feeling our cloths in person.  It should also be noted that body sizes and measurements change overtime, and periodic resizing is recommended.

Each client’s individual measurements are taken when a suit is first ordered.  These measurements, along with details of your body type and structure are then the basis of the construction of the bespoke suit.  All measurements and details remain on file and are referred to and/or adjusted as required.

This is the tradition of the modern bespoke garment.

Quality:

In addition to quality construction and craftsmanship, A House of Salgado suit is made from only the finest fabrics chosen from around the world designed for performance, comfort and elegance.  Signature woollens from Dormeuil, Barberis, Scabal, Holland and Sherry and other fine labels are woven to the highest standards from Super 100’s to Super 160’s and up.  For the most discerning clients, very limited editions of rare and luxurious fabrics are available upon request.

At the House of Salgado jackets are never fused.  A floating canvas of imported Italian horsehair and wool is a standard feature.  Surgeon’s cuffs with real buttonholes accentuated by hand-stitching and detailing complete the finish true to the bespoke tradition.  In addition, each client can choose from a variety of finishes such as single or double breasted with one to four buttons, slanted or straight side pockets (with or without flaps), centre vent, side vent or no vents at all and customized lapels.

Trousers come in many different styles as well.  There are flat fronts or pleated, plain bottoms or cuffs, straight cut or loose fit, a variety of pocket styles and many other personalized touches to contribute to your own unique look.

To provide the best fit a garment is tried on during early construction to ensure we are on the right track.  During your fitting, your loosely basted suit jacket is adjusted and balanced by a master fitter to your body’s natural contours.  If it is required a second fitting or “slip fitting,” takes place just prior to the completion of your suit.

Service:

Service does not end with the delivery of your garment.  We offer custom dry cleaning and suit maintenance, storage tips and ongoing alterations.  We are a family-run business who prides itself in treating customers with five star treatment before and after the final purchase.

Alterations:

House of Salgado also take clothing alterations.

All clothing alteration are done by a professional tailor on premises or at our shop.
