 The suit is one of the most-high priced outfits a man can buy for himself. This makes sense considering the great things a nice suit can do for man. For this reason men need to take care of their suits so that they will last longer and look better. Many practices need to be administered to in order to keep a suit in great condition.
House of Salgado understands how import the knowledge of suit care is, so here are a few points on how to keep your suit look new and fresh.
- Storing suits out of the sun and in a wrinkle and dirt free environment is critical to properly storing suits.
- Placing a suit on a formed hanger in a clean closet is a superb way to keep your suit looking great.
- Men need to be mindful of evil moths that will ruin clothing with complete disregard. The use of cedar blocks, hangers, and closets will keep your suits safe from all moth invasions.
- The use of dry cleaning is necessary to keep a suit clean, but should not be done too often. Dry cleaning can damage a suit and over time will lead to your suit fading and becoming torn. Try using a “Custom Cleaner” whenever you must dry clean your suit.
- All rotate your suits; try to let your suits rest by rotating your suit by building a wardrobe of five or more suits over time which gives you one suit per day over the week, blazers and sport jackets can fill in the weekends.
Suit Sleeves
- Your suit sleeves should reach the crease of your wrist. Ideally, a slight amount of cuff should show.
Jacket Back Collar
- No crease, no roll, nice and smooth, snug to the back of the neck.
Shoulders
- Your suit jacket should hug your shoulders, if the padding protrudes past them, the jacket is too big.
Jacket Length
- Two things to remember: If the back doesn't cover your seat, it's too short. If you're unable to cup your fingers under the hem when you straighten your arms, it's too long.
