Welcome to the House of Salgado Virtual Store. This site has been designed to assist clients of the House of Salgado to make new purchases, arrange appointments, stay abreast of business-fashion news, learn about the custom tailoring industry, and read about new services and promotional offerings.
Please note that a custom-made suit cannot be ordered on-line. The custom-made experience is a very personal and “hands-on” encounter, differentiating it from clothing purchased off the rack and from made-to-measure suits.
A custom-made suit requires face-to-face interaction between the purchaser and the suit’s creative team. In order to make a suit worthy of our reputation, we need to measure you ourselves, make note of your posture, how you carry yourself, details of your body shape; we like to discuss with you how you will use your suit (ie. business/social), your preferences in style and all other lifestyle details that will assist us in crafting the perfect suit for you. At the same time, this gives you the opportunity to select, from a variety of fabrics, the one that looks and feels the best to you.
Therefore we encourage you to use this website in the following ways:
- If you are a regular client and we already have your measurements on file, you may be pressed for time or out of town, you can use the Suit module to re-order a new suit in a fabric that is also on your file. We will then contact you and begin the preliminary phase of cutting your suit. Always remember that you will have to be available in the store for a fitting should you choose this option.
- The site can be used to book appointments for consultations, fittings and/or to schedule delivery of your purchases.
- You can contact our store for information through the Contact Page.
The best way to get the most from our virtual store is to browse through the categories at the top of the page. Each category may be selected by simply clicking on the appropriate tab. This will open a module with specific information on that subject.
For example, if you are interested in our custom-made shirts, simply click on Shirts (the fourth tab across the top) and the Shirts page will open. On this page you will find a description of the process of making you a custom shirt along with photographs of some of the many fabrics available to choose from. Several options appear on this page including the option to order a shirt by submitting your measurements (once again, we strongly encourage you to visit the store for proper measuring and fit—we cannot guarantee a good fit if this step is left out).
Visiting our virtual store will, we believe, inspire you to visit us in person in the TD Canada Trust Centre so you can not only see but also feel the fabrics, discern their quality and get to know your wardrobe specialists. Once you are a regular client with all your measurements and preferences on file, our virtual store can save you time by placing your order while away and having it ready for fitting upon your return. We look forward to sharing the custom-made tailoring experience with you.
