The House of Salgado is one of Toronto's few remaining bespoke men's suits stores meaning one where all the suits are "made to order" from the finest fabrics. The Salgado family brings a long tradition to their trade from working in the famed fabric mills of Sabadell, located near Barcelona, Spain.

Founder, Antonio Salgado, immigrated to Canada in 1951 settling in Toronto. While building the business, he worked at the Ford Motor Company.

Over the years as family members joined him in Canada to work alongside, Antonio opened Rapido Alterations and Invisible Mendings in 1960 which soon developed a reputation for fine workmanship. House of Salgado which began in Burlington, Ontario, soon joined the fray. House of Salgado soon opened a second store as one of the first tenants in the new Royal Bank Plaza building in downtown Toronto. The expansion into the Toronto market furthered House of Salgado's reputation for high quality European craftsmanship for an affordable price. Distinguishing itself from the competition, House of Salgado takes pride in carefully fitting all garments. All garments are crafted by being individually cut and fitted to each client during the basting (Skeleton) stage. The garment is then re-cut per the fitting corrections, prepared for a second fitting and checked to see if further adjustments are required. House of Salgado uses only the finest fabrics to create unparalleled bespoke gentleman's clothing including Zegna, Cerrutti, Holland and Sherry, Dormeuil and Barberis to name a few.

Although the product lines have expanded over the years, House of Salgado has resisted carrying any ready to wear products in order to remain an exclusively bespoke gentleman's shop. In addition to the custom made suits and shirts, they also make custom shoes and hats continuing the bespoke tradition. House of Salgado recently moved to the Toronto Dominion Centre remaining close to its roots serving Bay Street professionals looking for finely crafted bespoke suits and accessories.
